The following is a brief list of websites that offer a variety of resources for bereaved individuals. Some of them also contain links to many other sites that might be of interest. These links are not a specific endorsement of any product or services, but books, articles, and websites I think you might find interesting and helpful.
American Hospice Foundation - http://www.americanhospice.org - Has many full-text articles on hospice care and bereavement, as well as links to other resources.
Beyond Indigo's Grieving.com - http://forums.grieving.com - Various resources such as articles, discussion groups, memorials and stories, aimed at the bereaved as well as professionals, for all kinds of losses.
The Cancer Support Community (formerly the Wellness Community) - www.cancersupportcommunity.org - An international non-profit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones.
CaringBridge - http://www.caringbridge.org - Provides free websites to connect people who are suffering a serious illness with the friends and family who wish to support them.
Center for Homicide Bereavement - www.challiance.org/services-programs/mental-health-and-substance-use/trauma-services/center-for-homicide-bereavement - A local resource for individuals and families who are homicide survivors.
The Children's Room, Center for Grieving Children & Teenagers, Inc. - http://www.childrensroom.org - A local resource for bereaved children and their caretakers, modeled on and trained by The Dougy Center (see below).
The Compassionate Friends - http://www.compassionatefriends.org - Supporting bereaved families after the death of a child, this group offers online as well as in-person peer support.
The Dougy Center - National Center for Grieving Children & Families - http://www.dougy.org - Resources for grieving children and teenagers, including national listing of peer support group organizations for children, books, and helpful articles.
GriefNet - http://Griefnet.org - Has an extensive list of email support groups for all kinds of deaths and related issues, memorials, store, and a special site for grieving children.
Hospice Foundation of America - http://www.hospicefoundation.org - Resources for bereaved as well as professionals, including articles, links, books, conferences, and FAQ.
Lotsa Helping Hands - http://www.lotsahelpinghands.com - Free online community to connect those who are asking "What can I do to help?" with those being asked. Private websites can be created to organize volunteers, food deliveries, visits, etc., as well as keep people updated with photos or announcements, etc.
